VILLAGE OF EAGLE

December 19, 2016


The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on December 19, 2016 with Moore, Young, Rash, Schukei and Meier present. The Agenda items listed thereon were sufficiently descriptive to give the public reasonable notice of the matters to be considered at the meeting. The Chairperson, at the beginning of the meeting, informed the public about the location of the posted current copy of the Open Meetings Act. Chairperson Moore named the three (3) areas where the agenda was posted as follows: Village Clerk’s Office, Eagle Fire & Rescue Department and Eagle State Bank.

Motion by Rash, second by Meier, to approve Lucas Renken as a member of the Eagle Fire & Rescue Department. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Schukei, second by Young, to approve Sarah Feiler as a member of the Eagle Fire & Rescue Department. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Schukei, second by Meier, to approve Alex Barrier as a member of the Eagle Fire & Rescue Department. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Open Forum – Meier complimented the maintenance department on their efforts and response time treating the streets during the past weekend’s snow and ice event. Young wished everyone a Merry Christmas.

Motion by Rash, second by Young, to approve the Building & Zoning Inspector Contract for Services with Rick Hestermann. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Moore, second by Rash, to appoint Roger Rickman and Josh Lahmon to the Board of Adjustment. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Young, second by Meier, to approve Webkid Mobile’s Proposal for emergency text message alerts at a cost of $29.00 per month plus $0.0178 per text message. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Schukei, second by Young, to approve Roger Stubbendeck & Austin Goodrich attending a Wastewater License Preparation Class in Syracuse on February 21st-23rd, 2017 at a total cost of $300.00. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Rash, second by Meier, to introduce Ordinance 2016-11. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Chairperson Moore read Ordinance 2016-11 entitled:

ORDINANCE 2016-11

AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH COMPENSATION FOR CLERK/TREASURER PERSONNEL FOR THE VILLAGE OF EAGLE, NEBRASKA; TO PROVIDE THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE PUBLISHED WITHIN THE FIRST 15 DAYS AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL EITHER IN PAMPHLET FORM OR BY POSTING IN THREE PUBLIC PLACES IN THE VILLAGE OF EAGLE, NEBRASKA, AND SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL, AND PUBLICATION, AS PROVIDED HEREIN; AND TO PROVIDE THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL NOT BECOME AND BE MADE A PART OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF EAGLE, NEBRASKA.

Motion by Rash, second by Young, to accept the first reading of Ordinance 2016-11. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Moore, second by Young, to suspend the rules of three consecutive readings of Ordinance 2016-11. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Moore, second by Rash, to adopt Ordinance 2016-11. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Young, second by Schukei, to approve Nick Nystrom attending the 2017 Nebraska Municipal Clerk Institute & Academy in Kearney on March 20th-24th, 2017 at a total cost of $768.00. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

Motion by Rash, second by Moore, to approve minutes as typed for the previous meetings. Voting: Ayes – 5. Motion carried.

to the Village Office
at 540 C Street.
