Monday was Ground Hogs Day and yes, he saw his shadow! What does that mean? Six more weeks of winter.
As we drove around town last Sunday, February 1, 2009 you knew it was Super Bowl Sunday. At least one house on every block had cars all around their driveways depending on the which team did what you could hear the hollering down the street! We stopped at one get together but had opted to stay home with the kids and watch the game quietly. What a game it was! I was a little disappointed at the lack of commercials but did find a lot of humor in a couple.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner!

Eagle Girl Scout Troop #506 has a meeting this Thursday at 7:00pm at Eagle Elementary.
As you probably saw in the previous Eagle web site newsletters, the planning for Eagle Fun Days in well underway! We have so many people working together to make this day a success. If you are able to volunteer any time before and/or during these days please contact anyone on the board or email me directly! I know we have a lot of people who have moved to Eagle and may not know how or who to contact to be involved in the community. There are many areas that need volunteers, so please contact me if you are able and willing to donate some of your time!
Eagle Elementary will hold Parent/Teacher conferences next week (Tuesday and Thursday). If you have a child at the elementary school you should have already received a notice of your conference time. Waverly schools are also have conferences during this time. Again, you should already have received a notice of your conference time. If you have not, you should probably contact the teacher.
Little Tykes Preschool had their annual field trip to the Fire Station in Elmwood last week! The kids had a great time getting an up close view of the fire trucks and station. They were reminded that the fire fighters in our area usually work full time as well as volunteer their at home time to work very hard for the community as a whole. The kids were full of questions and found the siren and horn on the fire truck almost at once! Thank you to the Elmwood Fire Station for allowing the kids such a great experience!
As always, if you have a story or something you would like to see in
the Eagle newsletter, please let me know! editor@eaglenebraska.com
