We are in the process of seeking eligible candidates for this year’s contest. Eligible candidates must have an Eagle address as their permanent address and their Eagle residence must be in Cass County. Candidates must be 17-21 years of age as of July 1, 2007, may not be married or be a parent, and be in their senior year of high school or beyond to qualify. Please see the second page of this packet for all qualifications.
Responsibilities include taking part in the “Eagle Fun Day” parade on Saturday, June 11 and representing Eagle at the Cass County Fair as a candidate for “Miss Cass County.” As a contender for the “Miss Cass County” title, Miss Eagle must be available on Wednesday, August 5, to take part in the contest at which she would be required to give a speech on a specific topic. Miss Eagle would also need to be available on Saturday, August 11, to ride in the parade at the Cass County Fairgrounds near Weeping Water. A convertible to ride in during the Eagle Day Parade, as well as the Cass County Fair Parade needs to be arranged for by the candidate.
The winner and runner-up of the Cass County Competition will win $500 and $250 respectively. A contest to select “Miss Eagle 2009” will take place May 21, 2009 at 6:00 p.m at the Eagle Community Building. We would like you to be one of the candidates. QUALIFICATIONS:
Miss Eagle Contest 2009
Sponsored by Eagle Vision, Inc. and Eagle State Bank
1. Must be between the ages of 17 and 21 years as of July 1st.
2. Must be female, never married and with no children.
3. Must reside in a community of Cass County. (If parents reside in the County
and the girl is working or going to school outside of the county, the girl is
eligible)
4. Must have graduated from High School by the end of the current term.
5. Must present a brief resume of the girl’s background and activities plus two
wallet-sized pictures for use in the newspaper.
6. Must present a 3 to 5 minute speech on the theme of this year’s Cass County
Fair. See application for theme.
7. You will participate in a “Fish Bowl Question” portion of the contest, which
usually consists of current events, personal values, and other impromptu
questions.
8. You may interview with judges.
9. Must be able to be present for the Miss Eagle Contest May 21st at 6:00 p.m.
and at Eagle Fun Day July 11th for the coronation. Your family and friends
are welcomed to attend and encouraged to do so.
10. If chosen Miss Eagle, you must be willing to participate in the Miss Cass
County Contest August 5 (all day) and again, at the parade August 9th near
Weeping Water, Nebraska. You will need to furnish an escort for the contest
on the 5th. The Miss Cass County Contest awards scholarships to the top two
finishers. (In the past, this has been $500 to the Queen and $250 to the
Runner-up.)
11. Both parades require that you arrange a convertible or other appropriate
vehicle to ride through the parade.

BRING THE FOLLOWING TO THE COMPETITION:
1. Two wallet-sized photos to be used in the Newspaper;
2. Resume of your accomplishments; education; employment; club and activity
participation; and
3. A 3-5 minute prepared speech about the following topic:
“Cass County Fair: Meet Me at the Fair”.
We do not need to see a written form of the speech, but you should be prepared to
present it to the members of Eagle Vision and the judges. The topic includes the
Cass County Fair as part of the subject because this is the speech topic required
for the Miss Cass County competition in August, and the winner of Miss Eagle
will participate in that competition.
4. Competition will be May 15, 2008, 6:00 p.m. at the Eagle Community Building.
This will be an hour before the regular Eagle Vision, Inc. meeting.
