Boy Scout Pack 3, sponsored by Eagle United Methodist Church, earned community service hours for their recent collection of 500 lbs of food for the Eagle Food Bank. April 4th was a council event, Scouting for Food, to help the backpack program. Outlaying towns could collect food for the food bank in their own town or they could take it into Lincoln. Next year is the 100th anniversary of Scouting and the Scouts would like to make the Scouting for Food an even bigger event. The Eagle community Scouts have been helping with the food drives for the past 4 years. The Scouts believe with economy like it is collecting food for the Food Bank is very important so children won't go hungry. Kids helping kids.
Food bank coordinator, GeoAnn Reynoldson would like to thank the Scouts, parents and everyone who donated to the Food Bank. "Our shelves were getting low. We serve 25 families in the area and keeping food on the shelves is getting difficult. People have been so good to donate through out the year. We could not keep our doors open without your help."
If anyone would like to donate to the Food Bank you may do so by dropping your donation off at Eagle State Bank or call 781-2636.
