Where has the summer gone?

After speaking with other residents of Eagle, friends and parents, we are all in agreement that this has been the fastest moving summer!  The summer has been packed full of activities from the installation of the new playground at the Elementary school to Eagle Days and so much in between!

My children are growing up so fast.  I get emotional thinking about it.  I wish so much that they would slow down if even just a little bit.  I want to remember each day (ok, not ALL of the days) as they grow.  I am enjoying each one and how different they are.  Eash year they give me a new hurdle but also a glimpse of who they are becoming.

School will be starting soon and we will be starting our new routine.  I will also need to start waking the kids up earlier so that they get back into going to bed earlier and getting up earlier.  My children are night owls by genetics.  They would much rather stay up till the wee hours of the morning and sleep till noon.  So getting them to bed earlier and up earlier is much harder than it sounds!

Between the last events of the summer my husband and I decided to take a last minute quick family vacation.  We will be driving 8 hours to visit my uncle for a few days.  I am thinking that after spending round trip over 16 hours in the car with my children I will be more than ready to have them go back to school!  I can't wait to include some pictures and stories next week in the news letter!

Ealge Food Pantry in Need of Help

The Eagle Food Pantry needs our help.  There is currently a large increase in the number of families in our community that are in need of help from the Food Pantry on a weekly basis.

The Food Pantry shelves are in need of the following items:

·        Hygiene Products (deodorants, feminine products, etc.)

·        Diapers

·        First Aid Items

·        Dish Soap

·        Laundry Detergent

·        Cleaning Supplies

Families can not purchase these items with food stamps; when these items are donated, they run out fast.  Imagine not having diapers for your baby, a band-aid for your toddler, or feminine products for yourself.

Any items purchased for the Food Bank can be dropped off at Eagle Bank.  You can also make a donation at the bank.  The cash that is donated is used to purchase gift certificates at Lou's for perishable items such as milk, eggs, cheese, ect.

If you have any questions feel free to contact GeoAnn Reynoldson at (402) 781-2636 or (402) 580-0960.
