MEDIA ADVISORY

H1N1 Clinic Alert!!

Date: 11/03/09

Contact:  Dianne Kelly, 402-339-4334, Ext. 205 dkelly@sarpy.com

What:  An additional supply of H1N1 vaccine has arrived and the Sarpy/Cass County Department of Health and Wellness will be holding a public vaccination clinic for the who are most at risk and who are residents of Sarpy or Cass County.

Who should get vaccinated?  For this public clinic, five target groups have been identified by the Centers of Desease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP): Pregnant women, people who live with or provide care for infants younger than 6 months, health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient contact, children and young adults age 6 months through 24 years and persons aged 25 through 64 years of age who have medical conditions that put them at a higher risk for influena-related complications.  We ask people who are not in one of these groups to be patient and allow people most at risk for complications from H1N1 influenza to get vaccinated first.  After the CDC ships enough vaccine to states to serve the at-risk individuals in our counties, the vaccine will be made available to those in Sarpy and Cass counties who want it.  The Health Department advises those who are attending the clinic to eat breakfast and wear short sleeves under sweatshirts or jackets.

Where/When: Saturday, November 7, from 8:00am to 12:30pm(Arrival by 10:00am is strongly suggested)

Calvary Christian Church, Cornhusker and Cedar Island Roads (South side of Cornhusker between 25th and 36th)  Bellevue, Nebraska

Cost:  There will be no charge

As more doses become available more clinics will be provided.

Thank you!

I would like to thank the Eagle community for the donations made to the Eagle Food Pantry. With the economy as it is we are serving more families each month. I am so proud of the people who live in our little town as I know I can always count on them to come through with donations to keep the shelves stocked. The cash donations that have been coming in are just wonderful. When someone stops me and hands me cash for the food bank it just makes my heart smile.  I wish I could personally thank everyone who has donated to the cause but that is just not possible. Please know that I appreciate your support so much as do those who visit our little food pantry. We could not do it without the help of all of you.

Blessings,

GeoAnn Reynoldson

Halloween 2009

The weather was beautiful for the kids as they went Trick or Treating.  After the kids were home and resting from their sugar highs the adults made their way to The One Eyed Dog for a Halloween/Costume Party.  There were great costumes all night!
