Eagle Elementary Parking
Eagle Elementary School Principal, Dottie Heusman sent home a map of the elementary schools parking lot Tuesday, January 26, 2010. This map laid out where the parking places are for parents to park as well as that this parking lot is a ONE WAY parking lot.
*The horseshoe parking lot is a one way
*When pulling into the parking lot enter in the south driveway and exit out the north driveway.
*When picking up students park in a parking stall to wait
*DO NOT block the parking stalls whether empty or full
*No parking along the curb as indicated on the map sent home
*It is okay to park along First street (keeping in mind the houses across the street and not blocking their drives or mailboxes.)
I have my hopes that parents read this and follow the rules set up for EVERYONE to follow. I would also like to add that when dropping off your children in the morning, WAIT YOUR TURN!! All of us are in a hurry for one thing or another. No one's schedule is more important. Pull up to the horseshoe ALL the way, drop off your child and pull forward. It's not a hard concept. If you are going to be longer than just your child getting out, park in a stall as not to hold up everyone else. If buses are still there, DO NOT pull in front of them. This happened just this morning. I was waiting behind a bus, two cars pulled in front of the bus that was ready to go and the bus had to wait for them because there was not enough room for the bus to pull out. As I was waiting MY turn, a car pulled up behind fully intentioned to cut ahead of everyone waiting. Fortunately, the bus started pulling forward and so did I. The car pulled in behind me and we all were on our way. PLEASE, use common sense and common courtesy. This is beyond frustrating. What are we teaching our kids with this behavior? It's ok to cut if you're in a hurry? Come On People.
As always, I welcome any letters or emails in response to this newsletter whether you agree or not. It's important to get your point of view out there. I can tell you, there are others who probably agree and are thinking the same thing!
