Happy St. Patricks Day!
Eagle residents take over Ski Cooper in Colorado!
19 Eagle residents made their way to the slopes at Ski Cooper near Leadville, Colorado. The weather was great, the powder was fabulous and we are all walking a little slower this week!
If you have never been to Ski Cooper, I highly recommend it. It's a little smaller than the better known areas, a little less expensive, less crowded but more in every other way! The instructors are patient and make skiing a great experience. They are all about ending on a good note. Although I was told several times that if you are not falling down you are not trying hard enough. They want you to love the experience as much as they do. This comes accross in many ways!

Hello Runners!
Race season is quickly approaching! Please join us for our 2nd Annual Eagle Fun Run on April 24th. This year's run will again feature a 10K run and a 5K run/walk in an out-and-back-course run on the beautiful MoPac trail. In addition to prizes for top three men and women in each race, we will again have a drawing at the conclusion of each run for some great prizes. This year we are excited to be able to offer a dri-fit shirt option for our adult runners. The shirts will be silver/grey with the same front and back commemorative design as our t-shirts. If you would prefer a dri-fit shirt instead of a t-shirt, be sure to select your size, check the dri-fit option and include an additional $10.
Because of your generosity last year, we were able to raise nearly $1,500, which put the finishing touches on fundraising for new playground equipment at our school. The new equipment is installed and enjoyed everyday by our school children!
Please share this registration form with your friends, family and co-workers. We look forward to seeing you on April 24th!
"Having A Wonderful Time" at Mahoney State Park
Ashland, NE [March 4, 2010] - Spring is in the air! The roads are clear, the birds are singing and there's a new wild comedy opening at Mahoney State Park. "Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her," is a wild bedroom comedy by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Millmore. These playwrights have given us such favorites "Love, Sex and the I.R.S," "Suitehearts," and "Lie, Cheat and Genuflect."
Directed by Kevin Colbert, "Having a Wonderful Time," is filled with double standards, midnight rendezvous and a hungry bear. Danny and Kathy halt their night of passion when Kathy reveals she is dating another man. Paul and Jennifer are frustrated because she is reluctant to cheat on her husband. Danny and Paul are best friends and soon both the confusion and hilarity ensue. If you don't like to laugh, you'd better stay away from this one. We suggest PG13 for some adult situations.
Performance dates are March 13-14, 19-21, 26-28, April 3, 9-11 and 16-18. Curtain times on Fridays and Saturdays is 7:30pm; Sundays are 2pm matinees. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children twelve and under. Dinner theater packages are available. Reservations can be made by calling the park office at (402) 944-2523 ext. 7122. A state sticker or day pass is required to enter the park.
Prevent Colon Cancer and Stay Well
This is an important email to get out as this month (March) is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. A friend passed away from complications attributed to very advanced Colon Cancer because he was unaware. It has also affected many other people who are family and friends but I'm happy to say that because of alerts like this one, they didn't ignore their problems and they are still alive and well.
Please join us in the fight against all Cancers - plan to register for the 2010 Relay For Life of Cass County on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Information can be found at the Cass County web site - www.relayforlife.org/casscone or call the Omaha ACS office at 402-393-5801.
Thank You

Start Time: Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 8:00am
End Time: Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:00am
Where: Antelope Park
The one-mile, Capital City Buddy Walk, hosted by the Down Syndrome Association for Families.
The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to bring together a wide range of concerned individuals to reach out to friends, family and co-workers to promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down syndrome and to raise funds for education, research and advocacy programs. The walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to more than 280 nationwide (one in every state) with over 230,000 participants.
Many of you probably already know Natasha and James Dobbins. They have two beautiful children Lily and Jimmy "Buddy". Buddy was born with Down Syndrome as well as other complications. He had open heart surgery on August 3, 2009. He had complications from a nicked lymph node...which caused what they called a chylothorax with plural infusion. Which means they nicked the lymph node and that caused the lining of his right lung to fill with fluid and lipils, which collapsed his right lung. We have dealt with apnea monitors, oximeters, oxygen, prescription formula, feeding tube and all kinds of stuff. RIGHT NOW... he's fine. He is almost 9 months and 13 lbs. He is still on lasix, prilosec, and sildenafil. But that should be short lived. All thats left is to deal with the down syndrome. Which I can deal with. ;)
The Dobbins family is inviting everyone to join them in the "Buddy" walk on October 2nd at Antelope Park. They would love to see a big team from their town there to support them!
